Detective Mystery Puzzles: Evidence Board Clue Text
Evidence Board Clue Text
The Evidence Board Clue Text settings control how names,
descriptions, rooms and objects appear on the clue cards.
They change the wording shown to the player, but they do not change the puzzle logic or solution.
Own Person
This setting controls how a character is named on their own clue card.
Imagine the full name is Mia Hart and the short name is Mia.
Mia Hart was inside the library.
Mia was inside the library.
Short names leave more room for longer clues.
Target Person
This setting controls how another character is identified in a relationship clue.
Mia was directly above Daniel Reed.
Mia was directly above Daniel.
Mia was directly above the gardener with the red scarf.
Names are quick to read. Descriptions give the clues more of a detective-story feel.
Show Descriptions with Avatar Names
Enable this when descriptions are used inside the clues. The description is then shown with the character’s name:
The gardener with the red scarf
Relationship Clues
Some clues describe the position of two characters.
Show only once: The clue appears on one card, reducing repetition.
Show on both cards: The clue appears on both relevant cards, making it easier to find but also repeating the text.
Room and Object Wording
This setting controls how room and object names are written inside sentences.
Mia was inside the Grand Reading Room.
Daniel was beside the Ruby Display Case.
Mia was inside the grand reading room.
Daniel was beside the ruby display case.
Lowercase wording usually reads more naturally inside a sentence.
